China's agriculture is being driven wildly by large chemical fertilizers, large pesticides, herbicides, additives, agricultural films, and inorganic energy on the road to industrialization. The reporter was informed that at present, about 500,000 tons of agricultural film is left in the soil every year in China, and the remaining film rate reaches 40%. The extensive use of agricultural film in agricultural production does not consider the problem of its degradation, which makes China’s ecological environment pay a heavy price and accelerate the “death” of cultivated land. “I have visited dozens of countries in the field and have never seen a country like my country promote and apply agricultural film in a big way and make the country's mountains and rivers 'white',” said Jiang Gaoming, a researcher at the Institute of Botany of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. According to Jiang Gaoming, the internationally accepted upper limit for the safety of chemical fertilizer application is 225 kg/ha, but at present, the average application amount of agricultural chemical fertilizer per unit area in China reaches 434.3 kg/ha, which is 1.93 times the upper limit of safety. From the change of the average application rate of chemical fertilizers in China, in the 1950s, more than 8 kg of chemical fertilizer was applied to one hectare of land in China, but now it is 868 kg, which increases at a rate of one hundred times. "But the utilization rate of these fertilizers is only about 40%. When they are not used up, they become pollution," Jiang Gaoming said.
