The frequency of spraying should be 1 to 3 times per year according to its severity. 5. Preparation and Use of Lime-Sulfur Mixture Lime-sulfur mixture is a highly efficient, low-toxicity, low-residue green pesticide. The control of winter diseases and insect pests in Yangmeiyuan by winter spraying is of great significance. Lime sulfur is an ancient inorganic acaricidal and bactericidal agent. The active ingredient is polysulfide, the liquid is red-brown, smelly and strong alkaline. The concentration of raw materials with high quality can reach 28 degrees above Baume. The stock solution is easily decomposed after contact with diluent and air. It is formulated with 2 parts of sulfur powder, 1 part of lime and 10 parts of water. Heat the water first with an iron pan, add the sulphur paste made with warm water, stir and continue heating, and then gradually add the massive quicklime to continue stirring. The fire must be fierce, keep boiling, and cook while stirring. Cook for about 40-50 minutes. When the liquid turns yellow to soy sauce (dark brown), the fire stops and the residue is filtered off. In order to ensure the quality of the liquid, lime should be used in the form of blocky, white, and unabsorbed quicklime. Sulfur powder should be fine. When brewing, put sulfur first and add lime. Do not use iron, copper, aluminum and other metal containers when storing stock solution. It is better to use pottery and add a layer of oil (fat oil, diesel oil and kerosene can be used) to isolate the air. Diluent should be used with it.
