How to increase the number of litters in sows

Sows are far more likely to be productive and have better returns. The low productivity of the current sow has become a bottleneck restricting the production and development of the pig industry in China. So how can we make sows more productive? The author believes that the following points are critical.

One must be scientifically fed. In order to allow normal estrus in sows, it is beneficial to fertilize sows and increase litter size. For this reason, sows should be fed with green and blue juicy feed during the empty period, so that the sows can maintain a medium sensation before mating. The principle of scientific feeding is too fat sows to feed less concentrate and feed more green and juicy succulent feeds. Too thin sows should be improved in feeding and management, and feed more concentrate and animal feed to promote the recovery of sows as soon as possible.

Second, it must be suitable for the first age. Early mating of sows not only causes fewer litters, but also affects normal growth and development. The average initial sow is 8-9 months old and weighs 60-70 kilograms; the hybrid sow is 10-11 months old and weighs 80-90 kilograms; the introduced sow is about 12 months old and weighs. 90-100 kg or more.

Third, timely breeding. Sows generally have a estrus 18-22 days and last for 3-5 days. For this reason, attention must be paid to observing the estrus of the sows so that breeding can be done at the right time. However, due to differences in species, age, season, and temperature, the timing of breeding varies. The best breeding time is: the second day after the indigenous pigs start estrus; the second day after the hybrid sows are estrus. On the third day of the morning, the exotic sows were on the second day after the onset of estrus, and the swollen genitals of the sows just began to subside, and it was better to have filiform mucus outflow and press the sow's hindquarters to stand still. time.

The fourth is to breed by season. Sow mating is generally carried out in November and May. When littering occurs in March and September, cool summer and cold winter can be avoided at this time. This not only improves the conception rate of sows, but also improves the survival rate of piglets.

The fifth is repeated breeding. During the estrus of the sow, the first breeding interval of 6-8 hours after the first breeding, and then breeding once, can increase the chance of sow fertilization and increase litter size.

The sixth is to raise a good boar. One or two months before mating, special attention should be paid to calcium, phosphorus, and carotene and protein supplements in the feed. This will allow the boar to have a lot of high-quality semen and promote sows to produce more piglets.

Seventh, strengthen the fetus. After 9-13 days of sow mating and 21 days before delivery, abortion is easy. Attention should be paid to the protection of the fetus and try to supply high-protein feed, minerals, vitamins, and other rich concentrates and green feed. Avoid feeding frozen, rotten degenerate feed, self-mixing should be appropriate to add de-mycotic agent; avoid holding within the crowded, bite frame, slipping, whipping and scaring and so on.

Eighth, we must prepare for delivery. The delivery room should be dry, clean, and suitable for temperature, and be disinfected with 10%-20% fresh lime water before delivery. It was observed that the last sow of the sow squeezed the row of milk and the sow would have a litter within an hour. At this time, the sow should be sterilized in the abdomen, breasts and vulva, ready for delivery, and the infrared lamp should be warmed. The suitable temperature is 28 -32 °C, the temperature can be adjusted according to the height of the chandeliers.

Nine must be eliminated in time. For long-term estrus, fake estrus, or repeated infertility and sows with fewer litters should be eliminated in time.

Ten must wean early. The piglets began to receive the material at the age of 5 days, began feeding at 7 days, weaned at 27 days, early weaned piglets, early estrus sows, early mating, more delivery times, more calving.

Food Additives

Food additives are compounds or natural substances added to food for the purpose of improving the color, aroma, and taste of food, as well as for the needs of anti-corrosion and processing technology. At present, there are 23 categories of food additives, with more than 2,000 varieties, including acidity regulators, anticaking agents, defoamers, antioxidants, bleaching agents, leavening agents, coloring agents, color retention agents, enzyme preparations, and flavor enhancers, nutritional fortifiers, preservatives, Sweeteners, thickeners, spices, etc.
