Lotus Root Organic Planting Technology

My county is located in the Qinba mountainous region, where the Han River runs through, and the natural environment conditions are suitable for the production of lotus root. In recent years, the lotus root cultivated according to the organic lotus root production technical regulations has been favored by consumers. Now combining the planting experience of farmers in our county, China Agriculture Network has summarized the organic lotus cultivation techniques.

1. Select high-yield species to choose the medium-early-maturing and high-product varieties with shallow mud, stout stems, strong wind resistance, high commodity rate, and good quality, such as Bailianjing, Elian No.4 and Elian No.5.

2. Soil fertility in soil preparation should be avoided. Cultivation should choose thick, fertile soil, rich in organic matter, strong water retention capacity, convenient irrigation and drainage, and good light-sensitive clay loam soil. During the site preparation, sufficient base fertilizer is applied, and generally, 5000 to 6,000 kg of organic fertilizer is applied to Mushi, and the cultivator is fully ploughed to reach the slops of mud, Tian Ping, loquat, and fat. Simultaneous application of 50-80 kg of quicklime for soil disinfection.

3. Planting When the temperature is stable above 12°C and the soil temperature is above 8°C, plant it early. My county is suitable for planting from late March to early April. Choose two or more fully-grown fresh pods or pods to make pods. The pods must be large, the pods must be vigorous, no injury, and no pests. According to the row spacing of 1.5 to 1.8 meters, and the plant spacing of 1.0 to 1.2 meters, the plant was plum-shaped. The density can also be adjusted according to the size of the planting bud and the number of buds. Generally, about 400 litters per acre are planted, and 250 to 300 kg are planted. When planting, grade according to species size, 1 lotus per hole, taro into deep mud (10 to 12 cm into mud), earthworm into the mud (5 cm into the mud), all around the line of buds and buds to the field, To prevent the lotus grow out of the field.

4. Putian Management

1 irrigation. The water requirements of different growth stages of lotus roots are different, namely, shallow water promotes germination, deep water protects loquat leaves, and shallow water promotes scab, so within 30 days of planting, a shallow layer of 2 to 3 cm deep should be maintained to increase soil temperature and promote budding growth; After entering the vigorous growth period, gradually deepen the water level to 15 to 20 centimeters; in the 7 to 9 months of the prolapse period, keep a shallow depth of 7 to 8 centimeters to promote scab. During the whole growing period, it is necessary to prevent the water level from soaring, flooding the leaves, and prevent the intrusion of polluted water into the fields, resulting in reduced production and loss.

2 top dressing. Generally topdressing twice, the first time in the presence of 3 to 5 full-leaf, Mushi composting excrement 1500 ~ 2000 kg, to promote vigorous growth of plants; the second time after the emergence of leaves 7 to 10 days before, mu 3000 milligrams of composted excreta can also be used to produce 100 kg of cooked cakes or 150 kg of plant ash. Conditions can be implemented in the loquat leaf before closing the field into a few measures to increase the output of lotus root, sweet potato and other perishable green manure 3000 kg.

3 disease prevention. In accordance with the plant protection policy based on prevention, a reasonable rotation control disease occurs. The root rot was found to remove diseased plants in a timely manner, and at the beginning of the disease, 100 million live spores/gram of Bacillus subtilis wettable powder 30 grams of water 45 to 50 kilograms were sprayed on the leaves and petioles. For the control of brown spot, spray the above liquid at the beginning of the disease.

4 pest control. Aphids are common pests of lotus root, and can be sprayed with 30 to 50 grams of water per acre with 30 to 50 grams of water to prevent the spray.

5 Weeding. Manually removed. In general, before weeds are closed, the weeds are removed and put into the mud, and the floating leaves, yellow leaves and dead leaves are removed.

5. There is no obvious ripening period for the timely mining of lotus roots. When the end of the leaves is slightly reddish and the base leaf margins begin to yellow, the market will be selected for timely extraction.
