Black soap tree - create new "black gold" in the future

International oil prices have risen three times a day, and the energy crisis has spread across the globe. Thai scholars have in recent years studied a black soap tree that can be used to produce biodiesel to partially replace oil. Because of the low price and simple production process of biodiesel produced from black soap trees, this kind of tree is also referred to by some scholars as “future black gold”.

The black soap tree is native to the Caribbean Sea coast. Due to the good climate adaptability of this plant to Southeast Asia, it has attracted widespread attention in Thailand and surrounding countries in recent years. Some national governments are optimistic about the prospects of black soap trees, and even legislate to open up arable land for the cultivation of black soap trees, and have achieved good results.

“Thailand has only paid attention to this plant in recent years, but research has progressed very quickly and the government has given it full support and protection,” said Thailand’s bioenergy expert Serangapini Pangnigong in an interview with Xinhua.

From the cultivation of black soap trees to the extraction of 100% pure diesel products, the entire process is not complicated. But Thrall stressed that several important links are the key to high production and high quality. Black soap trees prefer semi-arid sandy soils and groundwater environments with high salinity. In the natural climate with an average rainfall of two weeks, black soap trees can be planted at a distance of 3 meters by 3 meters. Since the black soap tree can continuously produce flowering results throughout the year, the average annual output of black soap fruits can reach 3.6 tons.

The black soaps are oval in shape, and are automatically cracked after desiccation. The internal 4 to 5 amygdala black soap seeds are the main raw material for oil extraction. Seiran pointed out that with the newly developed black soap extract technology in Thailand, an average of 3 to 4 kilograms of black soap seeds can produce 1 litre of biodiesel. The output is considerable.

Thorland said experiments have shown that this biodiesel is suitable for various diesel engines and is a clean fuel that can completely replace conventional diesel.

At present, the production of black soap tree bio-diesel by Thailand's bio-energy companies is still in its infancy, and the products are only experimentally promoted in some rural areas. But Thorland said that because black soap trees can produce fruitful results throughout the year, once large-scale plantations are made, it will be possible to continue supplying sufficient biodiesel to the market.

In addition, the black soap tree is full of treasure, except that the fruit can be pressed. Thorland said that the black soap tree husk can be used to make soap, oil extracted from its branches and leaves can be used for lighting, and the whole plant can be processed into high-efficiency fertilizer. Earlier research also found that bees in the black soap forest, honey, higher levels of vitamins and amino acids.

According to Professor Hu Xiaosong, Ph.D. supervisor of the School of Food Science and Nutritional Engineering, China Agricultural University, Instant Noodles are often criticized by people who think eating is not good for health mainly for the following reasons:
First, high fat content, because most of the instant noodles are fried way to dry the noodles. However, Professor Hu pointed out that compared with French fries, hamburgers and other instant noodles in the fat content is not very high, with an average of about 16% -18% of fat, of which 11% are palm oil, that is, Human health beneficial vegetable oil, and a hamburger in an average of about 30% of fat, nearly twice as much as instant noodles.
Second, contain certain additives. Professor Hu said that when it comes to additives we talk about change, I think it is not conducive to the health of the material, which is the concept of a misunderstanding. The food industry can not do without thickeners, stabilizers and other additives, the country allows the use of, are strictly tested to prove harmless to the human body, we can rest assured that consumption.
Third, many people are concerned about the problem of acrylamide. Professor Hu pointed out that all starch-based foods in the high-temperature cooking (over 120 ℃) will produce this carcinogen, therefore, there are french fries, instant noodles, there must be.
