Method for testing the quality of agricultural machinery lubricating oil

The quality of lubricating oil used in agricultural machinery has a great impact on the performance and service life of agricultural machinery. In recent years, a large number of counterfeit and shoddy lubricants have appeared on the market, and the harm to agricultural machinery is not small. Most of the operators do not have the necessary equipment to check the quality of the oil. They can only be used according to their own experience or other people's introduction. These experiences are often not very reliable. A simple test method for the quality of lubricating oil is now presented.

1. Impurities Put the lubricating oil into the test tube to observe the presence or absence of suspended particulate impurities. The lubricating oil with high viscosity is dark in color, poor in transparency, and the suspended impurities are not easily found. At this time, the lubricating oil can be diluted with gasoline or diesel and then observed.

Second, the viscosity will be tested in accordance with the quality standards of the lubricant in the test tube, and sealed with cork and wax, do not fill, to leave a space of about 5 mm height. Put the lubricating oil to be tested in another test tube. The size and oil content of the test tube should be the same as that of the previous test tube. Also seal with a cork and wax, and invert the two test tubes to observe the rising speed of the bubble. . If the bubble rises faster than the standard lubricant, the viscosity of the oil is low. On the contrary, the viscosity is high.

Adhesiveness also deteriorates correspondingly, so that an oil film having sufficient strength cannot be formed, and a good lubricating effect is not obtained. Proof of the performance of lubricating oil: Rub the thumb and index finger with lubricating oil, if there is a sticky feeling. It can be concluded that this lubricating oil has better lubricating properties. If you feel the bun, you can conclude that the lubricant has lost its proper lubricating properties.

4. Moisture Put the lubricating oil into the test tube and observe its transparency. If it is not clear and transparent, but it is turbid, you can preliminarily determine the moisture contained in the lubricant. To determine if there is water in the oil, there are two reliable methods:

1. Pour the oil to be tested into a test tube, the amount of oil is two-thirds of the volume of the test tube. After sealing the test tube with a cork and wax, it was heated on an alcohol lamp. If there are bubbles, and the sound of “啪” and “啪” is emitted at the same time, and water drops are condensed on the wall of the test tube above the oil level, it indicates that there is moisture in the oil.

2. Put anhydrous sulfuric acid steel (white powder) into a test tube containing lubricating oil, such as copper sulfate from white to blue, which also proves that water is present in the oil. These two methods do not give the amount of water content, and can only be estimated based on how much the lubricant is bubbling during heating and how much copper sulfate is added. (芷安)
