Black-spotted diseased potatoes are highly toxic and cannot be neutralized by boiling, steaming, or roasting. Symptoms typically appear 3 to 4 days after consumption, including elevated body temperature, loss of appetite, constipation, dry and dark black feces that may contain mucus or blood. When it comes to feeding sweet potatoes to pigs, the appropriate amount depends on factors such as the pig's weight, age, and sex. Overfeeding sweet potatoes can reduce the intake of other essential feeds, leading to nutritional imbalances and stunted growth. Piglets, sows, and boars should receive smaller quantities, while larger pigs weighing over 60 kilograms can be fed more, but it’s important not to exceed 8 kilograms per day per animal.
