Pneumatic control valve installation details and tips

The pneumatic regulating valve is usually a combination of a pneumatic actuator and a regulating valve connected after installation and commissioning. The installation and commissioning of the pneumatic control valve is extremely important. This paper mainly introduces the installation details and skills of the pneumatic control valve:

A. Always observe the installation instructions and points of attention of the pneumatic regulating valve during the installation process;

B. The working environment temperature of the regulating valve should be (-30 ~ +60) relative humidity is not more than 95% 95%, relative humidity is not more than 95%;

C. The front and rear positions of the regulating valve shall have a straight pipe section with a length of not less than 10 times the pipe diameter (10D) to avoid the straight pipe section of the valve being too short to affect the flow characteristics;

D. Read the instruction manual before installing the valve. The instruction manual describes the product and the safety precautions and precautions that should be observed before and during installation;

E. Confirm Pipe Cleaning: Foreign matter in the pipe may damage the sealing surface of the valve or even hinder the movement of the spool, ball or disc, causing the valve to not close properly. In order to reduce the possibility of a dangerous situation, all pipes must be cleaned before installing the valve.

Confirm that pipe dirt, metal debris, welding slag and other foreign matter have been removed. Also, check the pipe flange to ensure a smooth gasket surface. If the valve has a threaded connection, apply a high grade pipe sealant to the male thread of the pipe. Do not apply sealant to the female thread as excess sealant will be squeezed into the valve body on the female thread. Excess sealant can cause accumulation of dirt or dirt in the spool, which may result in the valve not closing properly;

F. We carefully inspect the regulator valve: before installation, inspect and remove all shipping stops, protective plugs or gasket covers, and inspect the inside of the valve body to ensure that no foreign matter is present;

H. The regulating valve should be installed on the horizontal pipe and vertically above and below the pipe. It should be supported under the valve to ensure stability and reliability. For special occasions, when the regulator valve is to be installed horizontally on a vertical pipe, the regulator valve should also be supported (except for small diameter regulators). When installing, avoid adding additional stress to the regulating valve);

G. Make sure there is enough space above and below the valve to easily remove the actuator or spool during inspection and maintenance. For flanged valve bodies, ensure that the flange faces are accurately aligned to make the gasket surfaces evenly contact. After the flanges are centered, gently tighten the bolts and finally tighten the bolts in a staggered pattern.

Precautions for the installation and use of the pneumatic control valve:

A. The valve should be stored in a dry room, the two ends of the passage must be blocked, and it is not allowed to be stacked and stored;

B. The long-term storage regulating valve should be inspected regularly to remove dirt. Anti-rust oil should be applied to all moving parts and processing surfaces to prevent rust;

C. The valve should be installed on a horizontal pipe, must be installed vertically, and the valve stem is upward;

D. Compulsory to install according to the media indicated by the arrow.
