The internal leakage in a hydraulic distributor is typically caused by excessive wear on the spool valve. Since the spool valve is a precision component, repairing it can be both expensive and time-consuming. Fortunately, there's a simple and cost-effective method that can temporarily resolve the issue without requiring major repairs.
In the case of the E512 combine harvester, the distributor is a bidirectional unit, but in practice, it is often used in a unidirectional manner. This means that there are two tubing connections at the rear of the distributor (connecting to the cylinder). Normally, the upper connector is used for the oil line, while the lower one is sealed with a plug and remains unused.
When internal leakage occurs, one effective solution is to swap the positions of the oil lines and the plugs between the upper and lower connectors. If the bend in the oil hose doesn’t match after swapping, you can gently adjust it, but avoid applying too much force to prevent the hose from coming off. Once the hoses are swapped, the distributor’s control lever should be operated in the opposite direction during use. This may feel a bit unusual at first, but it generally doesn’t cause any other problems.
Important: Do not reverse the oil lines on the front side of the distributor (from the distributor to the gear pump). Failing to follow this instruction could lead to serious issues such as damage to the gear pump, ruptured hoses, or complete failure of the hydraulic system. Always double-check the connections before operating the equipment.
