Pesticide users will have to decide which dosage form and formulation to choose based on crops and control targets, application equipment, and conditions of use.
At present, the types of formulations of pesticides in China are still relatively small, and most of the formulations used in the production and use of aerosols are spray formulations. The use of emulsifiable concentrates and wettable powders is the main method. Suspension concentrates also have considerable yields. From the pharmacodynamic analysis, these three dosage forms are somewhat different.
First, the efficacy of EC for pesticides is significantly higher than that of suspensions and wettable powders, and the same active ingredient of pesticides is preferably EC. Fungicides for foliar sprays, generally oil-based formulations, are not good for bactericidal action because the penetration of the bactericidal agent into the cell walls and cell membranes of the pathogen is a bactericide molecule that dissolves in the leaf surface water film and does not require The assistance of oily organic solvents may even hinder the diffusion and penetration of drug molecules. Therefore, we should choose suspension or wettable powder. Herbicides for foliar spraying, because of the presence of a waxy layer on the surface of weeds, emulsifiable concentrates containing organic solvents, emulsions, suspoemulsions and other formulations; wettable powders and suspensions with good wetting and penetration Other dosage forms can also be used; herbicides applied to mud fields or soil in paddy fields are used more often than granules and other formulations that can be formulated with toxic soil.
Second, as an alternative to emulsifiable concentrates, the efficacy of suspension concentrates is second to that of emulsifiable concentrates, but is significantly higher than that of wettable powders. Because the particles of the suspending agent are much finer than the wettable powders, various adjuvants contained in the suspending agent facilitate the adhesion of the drug particles to the surface of the organism, thereby improving the efficacy of the drug.
