At present, wheat stem blight strains in the whole province have not yet invaded the stems, and their severity of illness is Grade 1.
In Huaibei wheat area, wheat varieties including Yannong 19, Wanmai 52, Wanmai 50, Xinmai 18, Yumai 70, and Fanmai 5 were not resistant to wheat sheath blight, and diseases of the late wheat variety expanded. At present, the proportion of wheat in the three types of crops in the province has increased compared with recent years. In addition, the planting density of wheat in some regions is too large, the seedlings are poor, and the resistance is weak, which is also conducive to the spread of sheath blight later. At the same time, climatic conditions are also beneficial to the occurrence of wheat sheath blight. From late February to mid-March, the precipitation in the whole province will be 1-2% higher than normal, and the average temperature will be slightly higher than normal.
In terms of specific prevention and control, peasant households can combine the management of spring and wheat fields, clearing the ravine, and reducing the humidity in the field. The weak seedlings can be used for top-dressing joint fertilizers to increase the disease resistance of wheat, and timely control of weeds to improve ventilation and light transmission conditions. When the disease rate in the field reaches more than 10%, most of the farmers in the wheat area will undergo chemical control from March 10 to March 25. Farmers can use well wax bud or Jinggangmycin. When applying pesticides, increase the amount of water and spray on the middle and lower part of the wheat when there is dew in the morning, so that the liquid can flow to the base of the wheat plant to increase the control effect.
