It's no secret that institutional settings like hospitals, senior living communities, and correctional facilities have been hit hard by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. High population density plays a major role in this challenge. Surprisingly, meal delivery carts—commonly referred to as "tray carts"—are proving to be crucial in reducing the spread of the virus.
In this piece, we’ll explore the inherent health benefits of tray carts and highlight some of IMC's products designed to keep institutions clean and safe. Let’s dive in.
When it comes to institutional environments, tray carts serve two essential purposes: promoting patient well-being and maintaining hygiene. From a health perspective, these carts ensure that patients receive warm, nutritious meals promptly, which not only boosts their satisfaction but also supports their recovery process. Efficient and quiet meal delivery is key to providing top-notch care.
On the equipment side, tray carts made of stainless steel stand out. They resist stains, absorb no odors, and don't rust. Their tray slides are easily removable for thorough cleaning. Proper maintenance makes stainless steel one of the most hygienic materials available. Many models feature doors that swing back 270 degrees and can stay open via a latch, making them ideal for both service and cleaning. In our current climate, where cleanliness is paramount, this is a significant advantage.
Stainless steel tray carts are built to endure the daily wear and tear of busy institutional settings. Cheaper alternatives like plastic or aluminum simply can’t match their durability.
IMC is committed to offering solutions that enhance safety and hygiene. We provide a diverse range of mobile tray carts tailored for institutional use.
Our Model #TC1 is an economical option, holding between 12 and 20 trays with a single swing door. Model #TC2 boasts the highest tray capacity, accommodating 20 to 40 trays with dual swing doors. Meanwhile, our flagship Model #TC combines versatility with functionality, featuring a 20-30 tray capacity and either two or three swing doors depending on the model size.
All IMC tray carts come equipped with double-walled insulated doors to keep food temperatures consistent during transport. They’re designed to hold standard trays measuring either 15†x 20†or 14†x 18â€. Each cart allows for side loading, with two trays per slide spaced at five inches apart, and customization of tray spacing is possible.
For seamless maneuverability, each tray cart is fitted with 6-inch plate casters, two of which include brakes. A push handle ensures effortless movement.
At IMC/Teddy, we remain dedicated to creating products that support facility safety and hygiene. Given the current pandemic, we’re here to partner with you in combating the virus. To learn more about our tray carts, click [here](#).
