Tenebrio breeding and application
Tenebrio breeding and application: I currently operate a tenebrio farming facility covering 140 square meters. The process of producing one catty (approximately 500 grams) of yellow mealworms requires about 2.5 pounds of bran, and the breeding cycle has been optimized to around 80 days. This allows for 15 to 40 reproductive cycles per year, depending on environmental conditions and management practices. A single worker can produce over 500 to 1,000 pounds of mealworms each month, making this a highly efficient and scalable operation. Tenebrio molitor, commonly known as mealworms, are not only a sustainable protein source but also serve as an excellent live feed for various animals, including Rana sylvatica, a species of frog that benefits from their nutritional value. This system is both cost-effective and environmentally friendly, offering a promising alternative to traditional livestock feeding methods. ZHONGSHAN G.H.L.
