China independently developed a simulated surgical robot
Release date: 2007-07-26 China has made a significant breakthrough in medical robotics with the development of an advanced simulated surgical robot. Recently, a joint effort between the Department of Precision Instruments and Mechanics at Tsinghua University and the School of Mechanical Engineering at Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics led to the creation of a robotic system designed for dental surgery training. This innovation allows doctors to practice complex procedures without the need for animal or human subjects, offering a safer and more cost-effective solution for medical education. The project, titled "Research on Force-Responsive System for Dental Surgery," has already produced two robotic devices with two and three degrees of freedom, respectively. These systems are currently in the trial phase and are designed to simulate real-time force feedback during procedures. Trainees can feel the resistance and pressure as they would in an actual operation, helping them develop precise motor skills and better decision-making abilities. A more advanced model with five degrees of freedom is also under development, promising even greater realism and functionality. Funded by the National Natural Science Foundation since 2003, this project represents a major step forward in applied basic research within the field of medical robotics. It has received continued support through multiple funding rounds, highlighting its importance and potential impact on future surgical training methods. As this technology evolves, it could revolutionize how medical professionals are trained, making high-quality education more accessible and effective across the globe. ——China Medicine 123 Network Hydrogel,Hydrogel Sheet Dressings Product,Hydrogel Gel,Hydrogel Sheet Dressings Roosin Medical Co.,Ltd , https://www.roosinmedical.com
