Zhejiang Longwan Chemical Co., Ltd. has been at the forefront of thiazole pesticide development and production for over two decades, leveraging its deep technical expertise in plant protection. Drawing from extensive experience in managing rice bacterial blight, bacterial leaf streak, and bacterial base rot, the company has continuously refined its prevention and control strategies. Through focused research and innovation, they have explored new chemical compounds to enhance efficacy and address emerging challenges.
The company’s research team has successfully integrated the bactericidal mechanisms of copper-based fungicides with thiadiazole compounds. This innovative approach not only improves the adhesion of the fungicide on plant surfaces but also enhances its dispersion and overall effectiveness. By combining thiadiazole—known for its strong antibacterial properties—with copper-based formulations, they achieve a synergistic effect that delays the development of resistance, broadens the spectrum of activity, and extends the duration of disease control.
Building on this synthetic strategy and their long-standing expertise in thiazole pesticide production, Zhejiang Longwan developed a groundbreaking product called "Dragon Fungus" (Thienobacterium Copper). After rigorous structural analysis, biological testing, toxicological evaluation, residue analysis, field efficacy trials, and real-world applications, the product demonstrated a unique molecular structure, advanced formulation, strong systemic absorption, excellent conductivity, and effective treatment and protective capabilities. It is also characterized by low toxicity, making it a safe and environmentally friendly option with cost-effective application.
In 1999, the product was granted a national invention patent, marking it as the first of its kind both domestically and internationally. The technology was thoroughly reviewed by the State Patent Office and recognized as a pioneering achievement in the field of plant protection.
In 2000 and 2001, the research team submitted proposals to the Zhejiang Provincial Economic and Trade Commission and the Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Agency for the project titled “Research on the Development and Application of Novel Fungicides: Dragon's Bacteria.†They were awarded funding under project numbers Zhexi Economic and Trade Commission No. 2000-261, No. 20001107G002, and Zhejiang Science and Technology Department Plan No. 021102164.
The innovation has received widespread recognition, including the First Prize for "Technical Invention" from the China Petroleum and Chemical Association in 2004 and the Zhejiang Province Science and Technology Progress Award in 2005.
With over 20 years of experience in producing thiazole pesticides, the company has built a solid foundation in both research and practical application. Its chief engineer, Xiong Xingping, brings more than 40 years of expertise in thiazole pesticide research and field application. He has played a key role in the development of new pesticides such as "thiazole," and his contributions have significantly advanced the field of plant protection. His insights and innovations continue to drive progress in agricultural science and sustainable crop management.
