Release date: 2010-03-22

The US Food and Drug Administration issued a statement on the 19th warning that taking the highest dose of cholesterol-lowering drugs (common name: simvastatin tablets) may further increase the risk of patients suffering from myopathy.
The highest recommended dose for Shu Jiang is 80 mg per day. The US Drug Administration said that although myopathy is one of the known adverse effects of all statins, taking high doses of sedative can further increase the risk of myopathy such as rhabdomyolysis.
Rhabdomyolysis is one of the most serious myopathy, leading to acute renal failure and even death.
Shu Jiang is the best-selling cholesterol-lowering drug sold by Merck. The US Drug Administration said it will further assess the risk of myopathy associated with statins and promptly release relevant information to the public. Meditech Medical Network
